The Position
The Employee Benefits Director is a new role designed to add value to our most important asset – our staff. The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is 175 years strong, serving a large and diverse community and currently embarking on the largest hospital redevelopment project in Australia’s history. The introduction of this role seeks to support our attraction and retention efforts and ensure the RMH continues to be a great place to work and a great place to receive care.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Employee Benefits Director will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing achievement of the RMH’s Employee Benefits Strategy. Success in the role will be demonstrated by an increase in staff take up of existing employee benefits as well as the creation and adoption of new opportunities.
The position requires a strategic, commercial and creative approach to identify new benefit opportunities, combined with a strong aptitude for data to ensure recommendations are based on solid quantitative and qualitative analysis. The ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders including Executive and Senior Leaders, the RMH Foundation, Procurement and Finance, Communications, external partners and employees across all professional groups is critical.
The ideal appointee will demonstrate a warm, approachable style with a focus on effective communication and influencing skills. The appointee will demonstrate a track record of delivering outcomes with a clear focus on customer experience. An exemplary approach to probity will be essential. A background in health or a health-related field may be of assistance however is not essential.
