  • Fantastic opportunity to join a transformational organisation
  • Flexible and supportive team environment

The Position

Ambulance Victoria (AV) seeks to appoint a collaborative and driven Equality Policy & Programs Advisor to join its newly established Equality and Workplace Reform Division.

Reporting to the Senior Policy and Research Manager, the role will contribute to the Equality & Workplace Reform Division by undertaking research and providing high quality, strategic policy advice in relation to programs that support the creation of a safe, fair and inclusive AV.

The role will also support the design, implementation and ongoing coordination of a Workplace Equality Contact Officer program to support our people and enable AV to meet our legal obligations, including the positive duty under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).

This role requires exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills, and an understanding of AV’s roles and functions, equality frameworks and legislation, contemporary policy design and the wider reform agenda for a safe, fair and inclusive workplace. There is a focus on maintaining relationships across the division to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve Equality and Workplace Reform goals and objectives.

The ability to challenge and improve process and thinking will also be important attributes for success.

The Organisation

At Ambulance Victoria we are proud to share our commitment to save and improve lives by providing outstanding care for our patients. It is our promise to every patient, and it sits at the heart of everything we do. No matter what corporate or support role you play in delivering our critical services to the Victorian public, you join a team dedicated to bringing our vision of ‘Outstanding emergency health care every time’ to life.

As a valued member of AV, you will enjoy a professional working environment that recognises the importance of work/life balance. Although there will be a requirement to maintain a presence at Headquarters, flexible working arrangements are available and will be discussed with the successful candidate. We offer salary packaging options, generous personal leave entitlements, accrued days off for full time roles, and other benefits including free on-site parking.

Occasional travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria may be required.

Successful applicants will need to have received the mandated COVID-19 vaccinations and be willing to complete pre-employment screening including a Police Check.

By applying for this position with Ambulance Victoria, you agree to undertake an assessment of any Secondary Employment or outside interests, in line with AV’s Secondary Employment procedure. This is required to ensure there is no perceived or actual conflict of interest for AV should you be successful and commence in the role.

At all levels of AV, a diverse and inclusive workforce allows the organisation to deliver Best Care to the Victorian community, and helps create a healthier, more productive workplace for the people within AV.
