The Position
The Executive Director for Clinical Trials will play a critical role in creating a world class clinical trials unit to promote and develop relationships with all clinical trials partners to increase the impact, breadth and amount of clinical trial activity in South Western Sydney.  Reporting to the SWSLHD Research Director and the Ingham Institute Director, the incumbent will be a key member of the Ingham Institute executive leadership team and will play a vital role in shaping the future growth and direction of the Institute and SWSLHD Clinical Trials Unit
Responsible for supporting all investigator led clinical trials as they generate high quality, translatable  evidence to support healthcare, the appointee will  ensure that patients and the community have access to cutting edge therapies, to expertise and to infrastructure within the SWSLHD. This role would suit a highly strategic, dynamic self-starter with significant previous clinical trials or research leadership  experience.
The ideal candidate will have a higher degree  in a clinical discipline and/or business. The candidate will be commercially astute with excellent stakeholder management skills and a resourceful approach. A strong background in governance of multi-site research and/or clinical trials with experience in human research ethics processes, patient recruitment, and biobanking collection would be critical to success.
