The Position
The organisation has created this new opportunity for an executive on the leadership team to provide strategic and operational oversight of the Emergency Management Technology Business Unit and proactively lead the organisation through a new phase of development.
Reporting to Emergency Management Commissioner & Chief Executive/Deputy Secretary Emergency Management. you will provide leadership to deliver emergency technology policy priorities of the Victorian Government and work collaboratively with other jurisdictions to optimise outcomes for the sector. Your proactive leadership approach will enable EMV to effectively execute its legislative functions through the delivery of a range of services including Strategy & Enterprise Architecture, Investment Planning, Procurement & Program Delivery, Support & Development, Vendor & Contract Management.
As an accomplished technology leader you will bring

  • Significant experience managing technology programs and teams in a dynamic environment
  • Strategic planning, negotiation and stakeholder management experience in large, complex enterprises
  • Program/Project Management experience in the delivery of large, complex IT/communications initiatives through their full life cycle

 
You will have a proven reputation of achieving results through collaboration, values driven people leadership, providing strategic stewardship and driving improvement in organisational and systems performance.
Resilience, empathy and robust self-management will be key to the success of this role, as will the ability to balance the current needs of the organisation and future capability. This position requires an individual who can work across all levels of the organisation, and who embraces change and the improvement of services.
Sound knowledge of and/or experience in government administrative processes is advantageous.
Tertiary qualifications in business and information communication technologies are desirable.
 
The Organisation        
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capability and capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
