The Position
This newly created senior leadership role will deliver strong strategic and operational leadership to the Governance and Assurance Department, as well as support broader organisational objectives aligned to Victoria Police’s strategic direction.
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary Corporate & Regulatory Services, the role will enhance the governance practices of Victoria Police by ensuring that all legislative compliance requirements are met; provide advice to senior Victoria Police management on governance improvement; heighten organisational governance strategy and practice; promote a consistent whole of organisation risk management culture; lead an effective audit function that  adds value through practical recommendations.
Offering a well-constructed and influential approach, significant audit management experience and an ability to deliver through a breadth of stakeholders is imperative. You will be a senior leader, significantly experienced within large and complex organisational environments and accustomed to synthesising complex issues to develop and deliver responses. With superior skills in engaging, fostering and enhancing relationships, the successful applicant will have a contemporary approach to lead and deliver within agreed governance protocols for value added audit outcomes.  A relevant tertiary qualification is essential and certified Internal Audit qualification is highly desirable.
