The Position
The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital (the Eye and Ear) seeks to appoint a collaborative and innovative individual to the position of Executive Director Operations. Reporting to the CEO the position will be primarily responsible for the leadership and management of clinical services.
The Executive Director is a key member of the Executive Team, who work together to support hospital wide planning and change management initiative and provide organisational leadership. Key priorities for the position will include leadership of service and program developments, monitoring day to day operations, identification of organisational improvements and ensuring the Eye and Ear meets operational targets while maintaining required levels of quality and safety.
The successful candidate will be an experienced operational leader within the health sector, with a track record of service delivery and results. The appointee will provide strong and effective leadership to staff, while fostering a culture that supports quality patient care, financial responsibility and improvements through innovation. The appointee will possess well developed conceptual and analytical skills, coupled with a proven ability to exercise sound judgement. Presenting with highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills, the ability to develop credibility and solid relationships with multiple stakeholders will be key to success in this position. The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (the Eye and Ear) is a world class specialist hospital in eye and ear care that provides services across Victoria. As Australia’s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for 158 years and is the third oldest hospital in Victoria. The hospital operates from a central hub in East Melbourne and provides support for services in other outpatient and community settings in Victoria, in addition to offering telemedicine facilities.
