Executive Director, Performance and Evaluation Division

The Executive Director, Performance and Evaluation Division is a pivotal leadership role for Policy, Strategy and Performance (PSP) group within the Department of Education and Training and across the Victorian Public Service. It drives the collection, analysis and dissemination of high-quality data and evidence to influence decision making across the Department, other government agencies and service providers to improve outcomes for children, young people and learners.
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced public sector leader to assume the role of Executive Director, Performance and Evaluation Division in the Department of Education and Training. The successful candidate will:

• Lead the design and development of a robust, integrated evidence base to inform policy, performance monitoring and evaluation and decision making.
• Provide advice to Ministers, the Department’s Executive Board and Education State Board on impact of government reforms and outcomes for children, young people and learners.
• Work in partnership at senior levels and with governance bodies within and across government to enable evidence-based decision making.
• Lead a team of specialists to collect, manage and share priority data and performance reports for regions and schools.

The successful candidate will be an experienced thought leader in government (or similar organisation) with expertise in research/analysis/evidence generation and exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
