The Position
The Executive Director Strategy, Planning and Performance is a key executive position focused on organisational strategy development and implementation and driving performance. The primary purpose of the position is to provide leadership in developing and achieving the RCH Strategic Plan, business unit planning and process improvement.
Reporting to the CEO and an active member of the RCH Executive Team, the Executive Director will support the CEO by providing leadership and management for major organisation wide projects arising from the Strategic Plan. The position will drive achievement of performance targets, along with organisational performance accountability and reporting. Additionally, the role will develop frameworks and models to enable organisational improvement capability including health analytics, business process improvement, innovation and commercialisation.
Presenting with experience in a complex public sector setting, the appointee will demonstrate substantial senior/executive level experience in leading strategy and business improvement.  The appointee will have strong systemic thinking capability to see the whole, the opportunities, the core business and the possibilities for streamlining.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate high-level project management skills, the ability to develop a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and evidence success in operating significant projects. With prior experience leading PMOs, the appointee will ideally hold certifications in change/project/BPI methodology. Displaying an engaging and mentoring leadership style, the appointee will possess the natural ability to build trust and credibility, coupled with the demonstrable capability to develop stakeholder-focused solutions. Prior experience in a public hospital or other healthcare setting will be well regarded. Post graduate tertiary qualifications in a relevant field are essential.
