Executive General Manager, Epworth Geelong

The Position

Epworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University’s Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-care health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria. The site features contemporary design, cutting-edge medical technology and best practice patient care, whilst offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and rehabilitation services.

The Executive General Manager (EGM) is a key leadership role with responsibility for the planning, development and operational management of people, clinical care and outcomes, resources and systems across the hospital, enabling delivery of high quality, safe and evidence-based patient care. The EGM is at the executive leader for the hospital and works closely with peers and the Group Executive to deliver on the overall Epworth Strategy. The EGM will also play a key role as a leader within the local community, partnering with external stakeholders and identifying opportunities for growth to support the needs of the community for the future.

The EGM will be a visible, inclusive and engaging leader who continues to build a culture that is collaborative, positive and one of clinical excellence, underpinned by the values of Epworth HealthCare.  The successful incumbent will be a proven executive or senior health care leader with experience building and fostering strong internal and external relationships and identifying and leading business development strategy and opportunities.   The EGM will have a demonstrated understanding of the delivery of quality clinical services and have proven financial management experience relevant to the position.  Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate tertiary qualifications will be essential, with membership of an appropriate professional association.  Previous clinical experience will be highly regarded.
