Transformational change and unprecedented investment are taking place in the provision of secondary education in the City of Greater Shepparton.  A new, secondary school has opened and is set to open at new state-of-the-art facilities for the commencement of the 2022 school year.  This new school is a key component of the Shepparton Education Plan, which will lift educational outcomes, opportunities and pathways for the young people of Shepparton and Mooroopna.
Greater Shepparton Secondary College was created through the merger of four government secondary schools.  It is a One School, One Campus model and provides a tremendous opportunity for a highly accomplished school leader to guide positive change, build a proud, unified college culture and make a difference to the lives of young people and the community of Greater Shepparton.
The new secondary school will provide education for 2,700 students, with a Neighbourhood and House model delivering an intimate ‘schools within a school’ environment, specialist learning spaces and an Enterprise and Innovation Centre. The student body reflects Greater Shepparton’s diverse population, with a highly valued indigenous  and  multicultural community.  A skilled educational and community leader with a strong emphasis on inclusion, respect and student wellbeing is required to lead the new College.
The Executive Principal of Greater Shepparton Secondary College will be an educational leader highly effective in championing transformational change using strong engagement models within school and in the wider community. The Executive Principal will have exceptional communication and management skills to deliver the best possible teaching and learning outcomes to both staff and students.
Greater Shepparton offers an enviable rural lifestyle with all the urban amenities to be expected in Victoria’s fifth largest city. Centred in the Goulburn Valley, the state’s fruit and dairy foodbowl, it is just two hours north of Melbourne, an hour west of Victoria’s alpine region and an hour south of the Murray River.
The closing date for applications is 28 April, with a commencement date of 12 July 2021.
Applications must be submitted via Recruitment Online at Jobs in the Department of Education and Training (ROL reference 1222564).
