The Position
Melbourne Grammar School is seeking to appoint an experienced financial professional with CPA or ICAA qualifications to assume day to day control of the financial operations of the school.
Responsible for a team of 5, you will report to the Director of Finance & Administration and will have gained significant business experience in a corporate or not for profit environment with the demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team for successful outcomes. With a strong understanding of accounting principles, you will have expertise in budgeting, the delivery of management reporting and preparation of financial accounts. Excellent computer literacy skills, supported by exposure to general ledger and payroll systems,  are required. Previous experience in a similar role in an educational environment would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills to build strong stakeholder relationships across a wide cross section of key contacts. With an exacting attention to detail and commitment to quality work outcomes, the appointee will display high energy and a practical approach with strong organisational, planning and analytical skills. Understanding of GST, FBT and accounting standards, particularly as they apply to not for profit entities, will be highly regarded.
