The Port of Echuca is a major tourism offering, featuring local history, the heritage wharf and paddle steamers. As well as the wharf and historic buildings, the Port Precinct features Campaspe Shire Council’s Discovery Centre, incorporating a museum, equipment displays, demonstrations and ticket sales for cruises on authentic paddle steamers.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the General Manager will collaborate closely with board members to initially develop a corporate plan that will set up a blueprint for business growth and innovative development of this key Victorian regional asset. Leading a team of approximately 20 staff, the role is accountable for the breadth of the business including the formal relationship with Council, positive leadership, business development, corporate planning. governance, stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
You will bring a track record of leadership success and tangible business results in service-related industries such as travel, tourism, hospitality, and leisure. Given the role’s significant contribution to local economic development, you will have executive impact and come with a strong reputation to influence and innovate. Personal attributes include motivation, energy, drive, and resilience. High integrity and ethics will be an essential part of the way you operate. Degree qualifications are highly desirable.
