The Position
As Baptcare continues to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable people across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, the organisation seeks to appoint a General Manager Community Services. This is a key leadership role, with responsibility across a range of service offerings including child, youth and family services, disability services and mental health services. With new leadership in the organisation there is a genuine opportunity to leverage partnerships and knowledge to support the growth and development across the streams.
Reporting to a contemporary and supportive COO, the General Manager Community Services will lead the operations and continuous improvement of the portfolio across the three states. They will build on evidence informed practice and grow the footprint and profile of the organisation, while advocating for the continual improvement of consumer-centred high-quality services. Establishing trusted relationships with major stakeholders across the sector, including Government and peak bodies, the GM will inform conversations with government, contributing to policy, sector and industry conversations.
The GM Community Services will be a visible and collaborative leader who has a natural inclination to highlight, share and showcase the work of the portfolio across the broader organisation. Developing and providing the strategic direction of the portfolio, including a focus on growth and innovation, the incumbent will also support the development of key foundational pieces of work to help set the portfolio up for future success. Equipped with experience of growing teams and services, the incumbent will be a thought leader and advocate in the sector, who can readily build a sense of excitement to problem solving and sharing of knowledge, underpinned by a genuine drive to provide outstanding services for clients.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as health, social sciences, business, management, commerce or similar will be highly regarded, as will senior management experience in a relevant field.
