  • Executive leadership opportunity in growing health service.
  • Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, improving health and wellbeing outcomes for all people in the region.
  • Attractive benefits including financial support towards accommodation and ongoing professional development.

The Position

Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) provides high quality and culturally secure primary health care and health related programs to all people in the Katherine West region. Staff work across a 160,000 km2 footprint of sprawling river and desert country including the larger health centres of Timber Creek, Lajamanu, Kalkarindji and Yarralin). Mobile teams also service outstations and communities in some of the most remote areas of the NT.

With the option to be located in either Darwin or Katherine, the General Manager Corporate Services will provide high level management and operational leadership to the KWHB Corporate Services Team to ensure effective organisational performance. This includes supporting staff development, enhancing business efficiency and other continuous improvement strategies, as well as data governance and financial management. In addition to overall responsibility for business operations, the role will work closely with the leadership team to identify and lead business development opportunities to improve and grow KWHB in alignment with the KWHB Strategic Objectives.

The incoming General Manager Corporate Services will be an engaging and visible leader who will be curious and solutions focused, to support the teams in their contribution to better community outcomes. The incumbent will have a willingness to be immersed in the community, focussing on deeply and genuinely understanding the challenges that staff and clients face.  It will be key that the General Manager approaches the role from a lens of understanding the importance of culture, in a service like KWHB.

Candidates equipped with experience from a range of different cultural backgrounds welcomed. Previous experience in the management of a complex corporate service function will be essential and exposure to primary health care will be highly regarded.
