The position
This key Executive position will proactively build robust and credible research, with the evidential data providing the basis for the delivery of evidence-based policy and programs. As part of an exciting phase in its organisational development, AITSL seeks to appoint an outstanding leader who is expert in standard setting, benchmarking and psychometric methodologies, to become the organisation’s inaugural General Manager Evidence and Impact.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager, Evidence and Impact will identify and seize opportunities to commission and conduct research on important issues relating to the organisation’s mission. The GM will also foster and encourage other organisations and researchers to add to the growing evidence base and will identify, develop and apply the most appropriate methods to measure AITSL’s impact in the education sector.
The ideal candidate will be equipped with deep knowledge of research, data and evidence. Experience gained in broad fields will be considered. With significant experience performing in a leadership role, the appointee will be a contemporary leader who has a track record of managing complex projects and leading high performing teams. Appropriate tertiary qualifications relevant to the role required.

AITSL is a national body established by the Australian Government to promote excellence in the profession of teaching and school leadership.
Located in Melbourne, the organisation plays a key role in leading significant national educational reform. AITSL is part of, and operates within, the national education architecture and has a national remit to work with the education community in all states and territories, systems and sectors.
AITSL has funding confirned until 30 June 2022.
