The Position

Peninsula Health is currently seeking to appoint a General Manager, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services to lead the large portfolio that includes Youth, Adult, Aged, Acute and Community Mental Health Services. With a strong focus on innovation and at a time of significant change, as the service rapidly expands to meet the needs of the community, the GM will lead both key strategic projects and operational deliverables. Driving innovative service design and continuous improvement, the GM will also have a focus on building internal capability and culture and will foster strong external partnerships with government and non-government partners, underpinned by the voice of the consumer.
The successful incumbent will be an engaging and collaborative leader who is future focused, identifying how to do things differently in the delivery of care to the community. Demonstrated strategic and operational leadership within mental health services and proven experience in the expansion of services will be key to the success of this role. With a leadership style that empowers and engages the workforce and inspires creativity, the successful candidate will be a highly experienced leader who drives continuous improvement and an open and safe environment, supporting teams to deliver better community outcomes.
The Organisation
Peninsula Health is the major metropolitan health service for Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. Caring for a population of 300,000 people, which swells to over 400,000 people during the peak tourism seasons, the organisation provides care across the life continuum from obstetrics, paediatrics, emergency medicine, intensive care, critical care, surgical and general medicine, rehabilitation, and oncology, through to aged care and palliative care. With over 7000 staff and 750 volunteers, the organisation also provides services in community health, health education and promotion, ambulatory care, and mental health.
