The Position

As Baptcare continues to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable people across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, the organisation seeks to appoint a dynamic and consumer-oriented leader to become its new General Manager – Quality, Practice and Performance. This is a newly created position. It is intended to foster and embed a strong culture of excellence in service quality as well as clinical risk management and assurance throughout the business to ensure outstanding outcomes for Baptcare consumers along with exceptional job satisfaction for Baptcare’s committed staff. The importance of this role is evident in its direct link to Baptcares’ core value around accountability for continually improving.

Reporting to a contemporary and supportive COO, and working across the organisation, the General Manager will lead the quality and practice function, as well as performance. The General Manager will provide thought leadership, guidance and support across the seven service streams of the business and will champion a culture of continual learning and improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker who has proven experience leading quality, governance, compliance and change in complex health and/or human services environments. Presenting as an inspiring and effective communicator, they will be recognised as a powerful campaigner for quality care with the proven ability to ensure good governance is part of the business culture. Outcome driven and possessing exceptional problem solving and people management skills, the appointee will have a genuine interest in improving the experiences of vulnerable people and will hold client experience as their ‘North Star’.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as health, allied health, aged care, business, management, commerce or similar will be highly regarded.
