The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer, the Group Director of Clinical Education and Dean Nursing Academy is accountable for the leadership and strategic direction of clinical education and learning functions across Epworth HealthCare.  With clinical education and learning capability centralised across all Epworth sites, the Group Director will ensure provision of an education service that will support the delivery of organisational strategy, support workforce development and influence excellence in patient care.

The Group Director will lead and inspire the education and learning functions to continually improve and build capability and performance, ensuring the delivery of quality, safety and practice development frameworks to enhance care delivery for patients and community.  Additionally, the Group Director will lead the creation and development of the Brookes Nursing & Midwifery Academy at Epworth.  The first of its kind in Australia, the Academy will be a place for nurses and midwives to discover, learn and grow.

With a strong clinical background and demonstrated leadership capability, the successful appointee will be dedicated to delivering on clinical excellence for nursing.  The ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders is essential. The ideal appointee will demonstrate critical analysis skills combined with an innovative and adaptive thinking style.  The position will suit an experienced executive with experience in health service operations or with expertise in academia and/or health service education portfolios.  The ability to manage change and lead teams to achieve performance objectives will be critical factors for success.
