Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School seeks to appoint a collaborative and innovative leader to the position of Head of Early Years to support and manage the welfare and education of all students in Kindergarten to Year 1. The Head is a member of the Executive Team and is responsible for the delivery of all programs and procedures, will lead specific Early Years initiatives and work closely with the Head of Years 2 to 6.
Reporting to the Principal the Head will be responsible for the delivery of a quality education to Early Years students and for the leadership, management and development of the Early Years and its programs. The Early Years at Lowther Hall utilises an enquiry-based learning approach and tailored curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy complemented by a strong literacy and maths program to support the acquisition of core literacy and numeracy skills.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional experience gained as a current Head in an Early Years or Junior School environment, displaying an obvious drive and passion for early years education. With a personable and engaging communication style, the Head will exhibit a clear ability to continue the dedicated programs established by the School to date while continuing to innovate for the future. The successful candidate will bring a clear understanding of early childhood development and knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy related to the classroom. The appointee will ideally demonstrate prior experience with Reggio Emilia, or alternatively a strong IB PYP background. With a proven record as an educator who is able to foster a genuine love of learning, the successful candidate will utilise strong engagement skills to develop productive relationships with students, staff and parents.
Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School (Lowther Hall), is a school for girls from Kindergarten to VCE, committed to providing personalised learning to enable every student to flourish and achieve her best. Lowther Hall is a diverse, open-entry school where students are known and well catered for from their very first day. The School has a current enrolment of 800 students.
Kindergarten, Prep and Year 1 at Lowther Hall are collectively known as Blinkbonnie House and currently has an enrolment of 100 students. The Early Years are recognised as a critical time in the education of students and at Blinkbonnie House the School mission of ‘Educating the whole person for the whole of life’ is begun in earnest. Opened in February 2018, Blinkbonnie House facilitates an approach to Early Years education inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy
