Carey Baptist Grammar School seeks to appoint a collaborative and innovative leader to the position of Head of Junior School for the Kew Campus following the impending retirement and outstanding contribution from Ms Libby Russell. As a leader and facilitator, the Head will lead and manage the complete range of operations across the Junior School and will play a key role in imagining the future of Carey and the future of schooling.
Reporting to the Principal the Head will be responsible for the delivery of a quality education to Junior School students and for the leadership, management and development of the Junior School and its programs. The Junior School has a current cohort of approximately 700 students at the Kew campus and utilises an enquiry-based learning approach and tailored curriculum based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy complemented by a directed learning approach.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional experience gained as a current Head in a Junior School environment, displaying an obvious drive and passion for primary education. With a personable and engaging communication style, the Head will exhibit a clear ability to continue the dedicated leadership experienced by the School to date. A strong background in educational standards and contemporary assessment will be key as the incumbent guides the Junior School in the development of individualised learning journeys. The appointee will have a clear vision and an ability to share this vision with others. The successful candidate will actively promote and foster the values that underpin the School.
