The Position

Reporting to the Head of Secondary, the Head of Mathematics is\ primarily responsible for the strategic leadership of the mathematics programs for Prep to Year 12. The Department has approximately seven full-time permanent sta‚ and four part-time sta‚ who teach across other faculties. Working collaboratively with the other Heads of Faculty and the School Leadership Team to create and manage an innovative and comprehensive Mathematics program. The Head of Mathematics will oversee the development of teaching and learning programs and professional development, in addition to maintaining and growing a high performing team. The Head of Mathematics will have a strong focus on relationship building and will be a visible presence in the community.

The ideal candidate will present with strong educational leadership experience combined with the personality and management skills to bring people along on the journey. The appointee will demonstrate experience leading a complex Mathematics program, in addition to possessing an understanding and knowledge of contemporary practice in Mathematics education. It will be essential the appointee can deliver high-level Mathematics classes to ensure that children of all skill levels and abilities have an engaging experience. The successful candidate will present with strong administrative leadership experience in budget development and management. The appointee will demonstrate experience in curriculum review, development and administration.
