The Position
Wesley College seeks to appoint three exceptional and contemporary wellbeing leaders to the position of Head of Student Wellbeing at each of the College campuses – St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick.  Reporting to the Head of Campus, and a member of the Campus Executive Team, the role will work in partnership with the Heads of School, Student Counsellors and their Wellbeing Teams to support and manage the day-to-day pastoral care and wellbeing management of students from ECLC – Year 12.
The Head of Student Wellbeing is responsible for implementing and further developing the College Framework for Wellbeing, with specific responsibility for the design and implementation of the Wellbeing curriculum from ECLC – Year 12.  The role will support the integration of wellbeing practices and initiatives into the Homeroom/Tutor group program.  In addition, the Head of Student Wellbeing is also considered the Campus Child Protection Officer.  The challenge for these positions will be to build wellbeing into the overall curriculum and ensure that the concept of wellbeing is built into the culture of the College.
The successful candidates for these critical positions will be genuine wellbeing experts and demonstrate a sound understanding of contemporary research, knowledge and best practice in the development and application of pastoral and wellbeing management practices that develop and enhance the overall wellbeing of students.    Displaying excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the roles will work closely with all key stakeholders including staff, parents, carers and wellbeing service providers.  Well-developed leadership and people management skills will be evident from prior leadership positions in addition to the ability to develop trust in diverse populations and manage change successfully in complex environments.
Post-graduate qualifications in education (Master’s degree) in educational leadership and/or student wellbeing/positive psychology or equivalent is desirable.  The positions will retain a specified teaching load, which will vary between campuses due to their size.
