This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key pillar of Beyond Blue’s 2020-2023 Strategic Plan and improve the lives of individuals, families and communities affected by anxiety, depression and suicide.  With a mandate to think outside the box, the Head of Suicide Prevention & Early Intervention will shape and evolve non-traditional operations and service delivery system to facilitate progressive, responsive and collaborative partnerships.
The Position
The Head of Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention is a critical leadership position reporting directly into the Chief Services Officer. As a member of the Services and Support division, the group’s purpose is to deliver effective early intervention, treatment and recovery focused mental health and suicide prevention supports and services, so people can receive help early and recover quickly to ensure their best possible mental health.
Through leadership of a dedicated team, and working collaboratively with the Head of Service Innovation, this position will play a critical role during this important next phase of the business transformation, including the development of the Big Blue Door. Providing strategic leadership of Beyond Blue’s suicide prevention and early intervention strategies, programs and teams (New Access and The Way Back), this role will ensure people with a lived experience of anxiety, depression and suicidality/self-harm will be at the centre of all strategic and service system development.
The Head of Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention will be respected for highly developed emotional, conceptual, analytical and presentation skills, and accomplished in dealing with complex and sensitive matters.  Ideally you may offer experience in planning, procuring, operating and evaluating integrated, evidence-based and high-quality community and digital mental health or health services and supports. Experience in telehealth and digital service development and delivery will be highly regarded.
With strong commercial acumen, a record of achievement as a senior manager, the appointee will have proven ability driving innovation, shaping consumer orientated programs, and contributing to human-centred codesign and community engagement. You will be an exceptional communicator, equipped with highly regarded leadership, understanding of clinical governance and change management skills,
Relevant tertiary qualifications required.
