The Position

Mentone Grammar is seeking to appoint an engaging leader to the position of Human Resources Director to take responsibility for the HR function at Mentone Grammar School, as it becomes an insourced function.  This is an opportunity for a contemporary HR professional to elevate the HR function and introduce more strategic capability.

Reporting to the Director of Business, this position will focus on leading workforce planning requirements to ensure the school maintains efficiencies to meet operational needs. The Human Resources Director will take carriage of recruitment and selection, induction, consultancy and advice, performance management, organisation development, HR compliance, project management and management of the HRIS/Aurion.  The Director will also have a key focus on the strategic management of professional development for all staff, including talent identification and retention.

As a highly experienced and contemporary human resources professional with experience across the complete HR portfolio, the incoming Director will demonstrate the ability to lead the entire employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate a hands-on approach and willingness to work collaboratively complemented by strong communication skills, a community mindset and a down to earth cultural style. The ability to generate ideas and execute well thought out and disciplined plans will be essential. Relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in HR or a related field is mandatory.
