The Position
The Manager Investment Attraction and Growth actively leads Council’s co-ordinated approach to the development of the local and regional economy. This involves bringing new commercial and industrial ventures and the diversification of successful existing agricultural industries.
Reporting to the Director Communities & Place, the Manager oversees three Coordinators and is accountable for the performance of the economic development objectives in the Council Plan. Key to success will be collaboratively partnering with industry, government and statutory authorities, local and regional bodies and the community to achieve sustainable economic and employment outcomes. The role also has accountability for statutory planning and building services.
The successful candidate will bring a track record that proves a demonstrated ability to lead a successful integrated economic development function and an expertise in strategic partnership and network development. Being an enabler that is self-driven, creative, takes the initiative and gets tangible results are essential personal attributes. Relevant tertiary qualifications are expected.

Horsham is the major provider of retail, community and government services in the Wimmera, with agriculture being the major industry.
