Overview
A key leadership role within the Senior Management Team, this role is critical to the delivery of Council’s and the community’s vision for a diverse, inclusive and safe workforce, which contributes to the success of providing services to the Moreland community. The position is responsible for overseeing the human resources functions and promoting workplace health and safety.
The Position
Reporting to the Director Business Transformation, this role is an integral member of Moreland City Council’s Senior Management Team and will contribute to fostering a positive and progressive culture and developing and supporting a high performing People & Safety team. This role oversees continuous improvement in frameworks, strategies, policies, systems, processes and training & development that underpin a safe workplace, and well-trained, motivated, engaged, and healthy staff.
The role also leads on coordinating workforce planning and strategic thinking. Success requires collaborating with other parts of the organisation to ensure effective operations and business partnering to deliver quality services to both internal and external customers. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded professional to thrive in a role that offers breadth and depth, providing specialist advice and influential support to Council, CEO, Directors, Branch and Service Units.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have proven leadership experience in human resources and workplace health and safety in a complex organisation. As well as a track record in productive and harmonious employee relations with staff and unions, including leading and facilitating negotiations.
