Manager Strategic Communications and Customer Service

The Position
Help transform community’s experience interacting with Council by creating and leading contemporary communications strategy, customer service and strategic marketing. Engage the community across a variety of channels, including media, website, social media and direct community liaison. Your extensive experience in strategy development, influencing senior leaders, and agile problem solving will help you succeed in developing an emerging centre of customer experience excellence at Council.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, and as part of the senior management team, you will lead communication and stakeholder strategy formulation and the implementation of initiatives to improve stakeholder engagement, clear communications, manage issues and messaging and enhance Council’s reputation across key stakeholder groups. You will be highly motivated to align and meet the needs and demands of external and internal customers.
The successful candidate will bring a track record of leading a communications or marketing function with superior written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to present impactfully to groups. A dynamic and contemporary outlook along with lateral thinking are necessary attributes.
Tertiary Qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or relevant discipline are important.
