The Position 

The Board of the Natural Resources Conservation League (NRCL) seeks to appoint a Director to commence in 2023. For over 75 years, NRCL has been actively promoting the sustainable management of Victoria’s natural resources.

The Cranbourne West Outer Urban Development is the significant priority for the organisation which will see the NRCL undergo significant financial expansion. The appointment of this Director will provide a focus on this Development and bring the following experience and capabilities:

  • Relevant board experience with a track record of good governance, collaboration and the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Commercial / property development background, particularly greenfield projects
  • Project management and urban planning know-how
  • Values driven and aligned to promoting sustainable conservation outcomes
  • Innovative with foresight and calculated risk taking
  • Change management, and
  • Proven networks and positive stakeholder engagement


The Organisation

Typically, there are six board and six committee meetings a year. A governance charter and associated policies are in place with an annual review to ensure currency and relevance (see The position is pro bono and is estimated to require a commitment of around three days a month on average.
