The Position
Ambulance Victoria (AV) seeks to appoint an experienced Policy Specialist to join its newly established Equality & Workplace Reform Division. The Policy Specialist will contribute to the implementation and design of AV’s program of work to create a safe, fair, and inclusive workplace. The Policy Specialist will provide high quality, strategic policy advice to support the Equality & Workplace Reform Division and related program of work, contributing to workplace and policy reform projects from inception to implementation.
Reporting to the Senior Policy and Research Manager the Policy Specialist, will focus on driving continuous improvement of processes and systems to ensure effective operation and delivery of reform documentation.
The successful candidate will prepare and review complex, high quality reports, on policy issues that may involve sensitive and complex information from a variety of sources. The Policy Specialist will be experienced in conducting high quality research, to inform strategic policy advice or the successful delivery of key projects to create a safe, fair and inclusive AV.
Strong knowledge of Victoria’s equal opportunity and human rights laws and knowledge which creates safe and inclusive workplace will be highly regarded.
The incumbent will possess experience in preparing policy documentation and advice on diversity, equality, inclusion, and human rights issues within a large organisation or department.
The successful candidate will be able to interact with a range of different stakeholders and have strong written skills.
