The Position
St John’s College is currently seeking to appoint an outstanding Principal to work with the Board and Senior Leadership team to lead the School into the next stage of its development. The Principal will partner with the Board to have full governance, financial  and academic oversight of this unique school.
The Principal will provide strategic and visionary leadership to create a safe, stimulating and inspiring environment whilst promoting the School’s vision and values. The incumbent will possess well developed commercial skills and be an extraordinary stakeholder relationship manager, able to successfully navigate the role of a faith-based school in the broader community. The new Principal will provide the necessary expertise across governance, finances and strategy required to take the school to the next level of operation.
As an outstanding lead educator, preferably bi-lingual, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience operating within an evolving environment. The appointee will possess an empathetic and resilient leadership style, coupled with high emotional intelligence and a strong understanding of how to manage the needs of the St John’s College community.  Presenting with strong academic and pedagogy credentials, the successful candidate will be passionately committed to independent coeducational instruction.
The Organisation
Since its establishment in 1979 St John’s College Preston (SJC) has been a leading bilingual, independent, coeducational P-12 school founded on Christian (Greek Orthodox) values.
SJC is looking to continue it’s progress towards providing students of all backgrounds and faiths access to a unique educational experience encompassing the latest in educational techniques but fortified with Christian (Orthodox) values and Greek ‘Filotimo’.  Students are developed as independent, critical thinkers through an education experience based on quality research, professional practice and world leading methodologies. Filotimo is a greek noun that is almost impossible to translate sufficiently as it describes a complex array of virtues.  The combination of academic pursuits, sense of community and family values makes SJC a unique place to learn and grow.  The next phase for St John’s College is an exciting era following the recent appointment of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
