The Position
Newhaven College seeks to appoint an exceptional and inspirational leader and educator to the position of Principal following the incumbent Ms Gea Lovell’s ten years of outstanding and distinguished service to the College.
Reporting to the College Board, the Principal will be responsible for the overall management of the College’s operations including the education and welfare of students, in addition to the development and supervision of staff . The Principal will actively work to promote the aims and values of the College and enhance its standing and reputation. The Principal will drive the implementation of eff ective, contemporary teaching and learning strategies while maintaining a focus on the individual child with a commitment to delivering excellent student learning outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a contemporary educational leader who displays exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a nurturing approach and the ability to inspire trust from all members of the school community. Proven leadership and management experience in a variety of school contexts will be critical to success in this position, along with a demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively and analytically. With a commitment to maintaining the College’s high standards of pastoral care, the appointee will display a genuine desire to be part of a close-knit, thriving community. Deep knowledge and experience with Child Safety regulations is essential.
