The Position
Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak is seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative educator to the position of Principal, commencing in January 2022, following the completion of Dr Susan Stevens’ term as Principal.  Dr Stevens has led Loreto Toorak with distinction for nearly 20 years and has made an extraordinary contribution to School in that time.
Reporting to the School Board, the Principal will build on the current strengths of the school, taking it to greater heights via a focus on development and the future of education.  Leading a high performing leadership team, the Principal will inspire confidence in the School, not only driving excellence in educational and pastoral outcomes but also continuing to develop and maintain a safe, caring and vibrant community. Promoting strong enrolment levels, financial stability, effective operational management and a quality infrastructure will also be key aspects of this position.
The ideal candidate will possess values to drive the Catholic faith and ethos of the School, together with a genuine desire to be part of a thriving community. With a comprehensive knowledge and experience in education and the business acumen required to successfully run a multifaceted organisation, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional stakeholder management experience and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build sustained relationships across a broad community.  The ability to foster a positive culture along with an open and collaborative leadership style will be essential to ensuring the ongoing professional development of staff.
With demonstrable experience in leading and executing a vision and strategy in a complex educational environment, the appointee will possess well developed strategic leadership and governance skills. An innovative and creative outlook combined with high emotional intelligence and a calm and pragmatic demeanour will ensure success in this leadership position.
