The Position
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a well credentialed leadership group with significant experience across the energy, sustainability, and communications sectors.
The role is responsible for leading the development of risk and assurance activities associated with Solar Victoria’s new programs of work, including a rebate stream for small businesses and a program to support low-income households with energy efficient heating and cooling system upgrades, and to integrate the delivery of these activities into the overall work program.
Reporting to the Director, Risk, Assurance and Standards you will lead on implementing risk and governance mechanisms, providing strategic advice, ensuring continuous improvement, efficient monitoring, and reporting, and positively influencing regulators, government, and industry, to advance a best practice approach in safety and quality.
The successful candidate will have a track record in the development and delivery of safety and quality assurance systems and risk-based program design. Â Experience gained in a government regulated environment is highly desirable. You will be a values driven professional and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A relevant tertiary degree/qualification in engineering, regulation or equivalent is mandatory.
The Organisation
Solar Victoria is a portfolio entity within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), set up to deliver the Solar Homes program.
Solar Victoria is also charged with delivering 2 new government initiatives:
The Solar for Business Program will commence with a small business rebate stream to support 15,000 small businesses over the next 3 years.
The $335 million Heating and Cooling Program will help more than 250,000 low-income earners in Victoria to replace their old wood, electric or gas-fired heaters with energy-efficient systems.
