The newly established Australian Institute of Advanced Technologies (AIAT) seeks an outstanding individual to lead academic operations and ongoing development as its inaugural Provost and Chief Academic Officer, supporting the Institute’s vision, mission and goals.
As AIAT’s senior academic leader, this important role oversees all aspects of academic operations, ensuring quality in teaching and learning. As a new institute of higher education, AIAT offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the strategy of the Institute and to lead the design and development of new degree and other courses. In addition to academic leadership, the Provost and Chief Academic Officer will play a central role in advocating for the Institute externally, building and nurturing relationships with industry partners and with government.
With a PhD qualification in a relevant discipline and demonstrated higher education sector experience, the successful candidate will bring a track record of innovation in teaching and learning, with the gravitas to lead academic operations and to participate as an internal board member of the Institute’s Academic Board. Comfortable in working with a range of stakeholders, both internally and with external industry partners and government, you will have outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build and nurture partnerships. Entrepreneurial in spirit and with a collaborative mindset, you will be enthusiastic to drive growth in a new institute, leading the design and development of contemporary new courses that support industry and provide opportunity for students. Experience in registration and accreditation is required.
The Australian Institute of Advanced Technologies (AIAT) is a newly established private higher education provider in Adelaide, with an ambitious strategic plan to become a leader in the provision of work-ready graduates. With initial courses to be launched in 2024, AIAT will offer degrees and other higher education qualifications and short courses in digital advanced technologies and their applications, closely aligned with the needs of industry partners.
AIAT has been granted TEQSA (and is awaiting CRICOS) registration to begin admitting students in February 2024, when an initial intake of 300 students is planned. Initially producing skilled international students to work in South Australian industry, a growth trajectory is planned, with the introduction of new courses and broader student markets.
Based in Adelaide, AIAT is supported by a highly experienced and effective Academic Board, members of which are drawn from a wide range of academic and teaching and learning backgrounds.
