The Position

Trade & Investment Queensland (TIQ) seeks to appoint an inspiring and commercially astute individual to become its Trade and Investment Commissioner – Indonesia. Recognising Indonesia’s geographic proximity to Queensland, its demographics and ambitious development plans, this is a key appointment within TIQ’s global network.

This Commissioner position reports to the Queensland Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner – ASEAN, will lead and manage the Jakarta office and be responsible for the development of market strategies and the achievement of trade and investment outcomes across the market. The broad industry focus includes food and agriculture, education and infrastructure/urban design along with mining, resources and energy, health, innovation, technology and manufacturing as well as consumer and services.

The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be a senior level, commercially astute leader who understands government and has a deep familiarity with Australia and Indonesia as well as other key markets in ASEAN. Recognised as contemporary and inspiring, and known for being an outstanding communicator who has exceptional people skills, the appointee will be a strategic thinker who has a record of applying sound corporate governance. Evidencing a commitment to championing innovative ideas, the incumbent will demonstrate detailed knowledge in one or more of the Queensland Government’s key industry sectors as outlined above.
