The Position
The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions builds strategic relationships with businesses and partners across Melbourne to facilitate investment, create high value jobs and stimulate business growth.
As the Director of a dedicated team within the Jobs, Innovation and Business Engagement Group, you will lead the south east directorate to oversee investment pipeline development, investment management, business networking, intelligence gathering and referrals to support growth in key sectors and markets prominent in this region, including advanced manufacturing, digital, food, life sciences and transport.
Keys to success are superior collaboration skills and proven experience in partnership brokering and development. These skills should be backed by commercial and strategic acumen with a focus on business case development, understanding of investment drivers and economic/industry context. Specific sectoral domain knowledge will also be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will have sound conceptual and analytical skills, proven ability to lead multi-faceted teams, a track record of developing and influencing stakeholder relationships  and a strength in resolving complex issues in a high-pressure environment.
