Registrar

• Lead the effective management and accurate reporting of student data

• 12-month contract role, based in Bendigo or Essendon

The Registrar provides strategic leadership, direction and management in relation to all student records administration, external data reporting to government and other regulatory agencies, including the claiming of funding for Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) and issuance of official certification.
This key role offers expert direction, advice and information to the Chief Academic Officer, to whom this role reports, the Executive Team and Chief Executive Officer in relation to regulatory and business governance, systems and processes to manage student records across the wider BKI business.  Working to a continuous improvement and agile business model, the Registrar will foster customer driven delivery of services to all areas of the business including students.  The Registrar also maintains close linkages with governments and networks across the education sector (at both state and national level) in relation to best practice, policy and systems.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience and an understanding of relevant reporting frameworks, bringing expertise in sound governance principles and data integrity.  With a keen eye for detail and the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, the appointee will be committed to continuous improvement, keen to innovate to deliver strategic and functional objectives, and to support student achievement.  A tertiary degree in business or a related discipline or equivalent work experience is required.  A postgraduate degree will be highly regarded.
The Institute
Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) was established in 2014 by the merger of two TAFE institutes – Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute – and two related service providers – VETASSESS and eWorks.  The organisation is one of Victoria’s most prominent vocational training providers.
The Institute provides training to over 32,000 students in health and community services, environment and primary industries, hair and beauty, creative industries, trades, automotive, professional industries and foundation studies.  Through VETASSESS, BKI also provides around 30,000 skills assessments annually, while eWorks supports e-learning customers and hosted digital content used by over 115,000 users.
