The Position
Values-based Aged Care provider, Kirkbrae Presbyterian Homes, seeks to appoint a Residential Facility Manager to manage all aspects of residential care with a focus on enhancing the care and lifestyle of residents. The position will serve as a key liaison and trusted advisor to a broad group of stakeholders, and may also be required to present to the Social Services Committee (effectively the Board) on strategic matters of relevance to Residential Care Services.
Reporting to the CEO, the Residential Facility Manager will ensure that the provision of care services is delivered in accordance with the Aged Care Act as well as related health legislation systems while maximising the choices and independence of residents and ensuring compassionate person-centered care and services. The Manager will also be responsible for developing and managing all business aspects of the residential care facilities, including financial performance, liaison with key suppliers, capital equipment and refurbishments, budget development and purchasing arrangements.
The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with current AHPRA registration and current or very recent experience in the management of residential aged care facilities. A sound understanding of the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Standards, accreditation and other regulatory requirements, including exposure to complex quality assurance frameworks is essential as is extensive knowledge and understanding of funding issues in aged care. The appointee will be a courageous leader who seeks to make a mark by embedding continuous improvement and optimising holistic person-centered care that supports all dimensions of life: clinical, emotional, spiritual and social.
Tertiary qualifications in a health and/or business management related field are essential.

At the heart of the community is an aged care facility with 106 beds. The home is designed with charm and has a homelike atmosphere allowing residents full enjoyment of their social activities, with lounges and dining rooms overlooking tranquil gardens areas. There are 78 retirement units set within parklike surrounds. Easy access to facilities, such as the community hall, is provided by a series of pathways
Like most aged care facilities, Kirkbrae has not been immune to COVID 19. The facility has been impacted greatly. The leadership is steadfastly resetting its high-quality practices.
