The Position

Having recently placed three senior leadership positions at the Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK), Fisher Leadership is delighted to continue our partnership with AISHK in an exciting new project to place 10 key positions within the school.

AISHK seeks to appoint a Secondary EAL Teacher to join their highly talented, enthusiastic and collaborative teaching team and to contribute to a culture of continual improvement at the school.

The Secondary EAL Teacher (7-12) reports to the Head of Learning Support and Head of Secondary and works closely with the Head of English and other personnel to ensure optimum student learning. They are responsible for developing and conducting learning programs for secondary students with EAL needs.

The Secondary EAL Teacher will:

  • possess a sound knowledge of a broad range of learning needs to promote students’ social, emotional, intellectual and physical development;
  • have classroom teaching and co-teaching experience (ability to teach or support subject English and/or the NSW Higher School Certificate EAL/D course is desirable);
  • work collaboratively in classrooms, in a full-time capacity, to support and teach students with EAL needs;
  • deliver an EAL in an EAP (English for Academic Purposes) learning environment;
  • carry out data-based tracking of students to ensure maximised learning opportunities.
