The Position

The organisation has accepted the Commission’s recommendation to establish a new organisational response to complaints of unlawful and harmful conduct and accordingly, AV seeks to appoint a highly credible Senior Advisor, Specialist Support and Engagement, a key role within the Professional Standards and Behaviours Department.
The Senior Advisor, Specialist Support and Engagement will provide critical support to Ambulance Victoria, as the interface between the organisation and support services of the Professional Standards and Behaviours Department. Ensuring the safety and welfare of all parties, the Senior Advisor will drive a people centred approach to complaints and assess and triage in a timely manner, determining the appropriate course of action and resolution pathways, including referrals to specialist support. A key function of the role will be to assist persons that engage with the Professional Standards & Behaviours Department to find the most appropriate pathway in the organisation to address their concerns, This may include providing advice and guidance to affected employees and managers regarding complaint
processes, resolution pathways, alternative options or support to raise matters through appropriate avenues. The Senior Advisor will also provide support to managers and senior people partners, coaching and advising on early intervention and resolution strategies, contributing towards a safe workplace.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in the leadership and management of resolution of professional conduct matters within a complex organisation. With sound knowledge and experience in person-centred and restorative workplace practices, the Senior Advisor will also have experience in the coordination, analysis and delivery of programs and dispute resolution services with a lens to continuous improvement. Highly developed communication, negotiation and organisational skills as well as the ability to develop and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, will contribute to success in this role. A post graduate degree or relevant industry certification in combination with industry experience in an Industrial Relations, Human Resources or related discipline will be essential.
