The Position
Ambulance Victoria (AV) seeks to appoint an experienced diversity and inclusion practitioner to join its newly established Equality & Workplace Reform Division. This is a pivotal position in the new Division. It will take the lead on developing, implementing, and championing AV’s strategy and vision for a safe, fair and inclusive organisation – for its people and its patients. This work has high priority within the organisation and across the community.
Reporting to the Director, Diversity & Inclusion, the Senior Diversity & Inclusion Lead will engage with a range of stakeholders to drive the implementation of AV’s diversity and inclusion work program and develop policies, processes, and systems to create a safe, fair and inclusion organisation and manage and administer compliance with relevant legislation and/or targets. The Senior Diversity & Inclusion Lead will oversee a team of subject matter experts and together they will create awareness of the work program, to ensure it is built into organisational programs, practices, and procedures.
The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, and/or human rights and will have proven experience in creating safe, fair and inclusive workplaces and service delivery. They will have managed and worked collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes on complex and sensitive matters and will have experience developing and delivering strategic people-related programs of work. They will be known for having excellent facilitation skills and helping people move through change in a positive and constructive way and will be the sort of leader who readily inspires collaboration and change.
