The Social Research Centre (SRC) seeks an enthusiastic, passionate and results-oriented leader with a drive to combine an exciting business opportunity with making a positive impact on society through high-impact social research, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Reporting directly to the SRC Board, the CEO will oversee all strategic and business aspects to support the functionality, commercial performance and sustainability of the SRC.  With a mandate for growth, the CEO will seek opportunities to improve operational productivity in line with the organisation’s objectives and mission.  Leading and motivating a high performing team, the appointee will drive innovation to maintain industry leadership, managing risks and opportunities, and making high-quality investment decisions in people, technology and business development initiatives to advance the business and sustain profitability.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate significant experience at an executive level, with broad functional experience and deep commercial acumen.  With a clear growth mindset, you will understand business drivers and will be able to lead productivity gains to effect commercial returns.  Strengths in communication, influencing and negotiation will be required to engage with a broad stakeholder group, which includes research staff, the Board and external stakeholders from universities and government, building and sustaining trusted relationships.  With the ability to balance risk and opportunity, you will also be able to bring the team on the journey, ensuring that the supportive culture of the organisation remains, and that a deep-seated passion and commitment to high quality outputs in social research will remain at the forefront.

A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline is expected, with over 15 years’ experience gained in a technology based, people driven services business in social research or a similar environment.

The Social Research Centre provides the Australian social research community with access to world-class research and evaluation services, including research design, survey management, statistical consulting, qualitative research, data science applications, and analysis and reporting.
