The Social Research Centre (SRC) seeks a results-oriented finance and functional leader with a passion for social research and a drive to make a positive impact on society, as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer (COO/CFO).

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and as a key member of the executive leadership team, the COO/CFO will drive functional capability and delivery across financial strategy and controls, accounting and reporting, technology, people and culture, and marketing.  As a strategic partner to the CEO, the COO/CFO will play a critical role in ensuring the compliance, performance and sustainability of the organisation, leading all corporate functional activities in support of, and as a key driver of, the SRC’s strategy and mission.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in a senior management role, with broad functional experience and deep commercial acumen.  A thought leader with a strategic financial lens, you will be proficient in commercial and financial principles and requirements, with a strong understanding of compliance and risk management.  Strengths in communication, influencing and negotiation will be required to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and to lead and motivate a high-performing team.  The role will work closely with the Board and prior experience in board reporting and company secretarial activities will be highly regarded.   Bringing outstanding problem-solving skills, you will have high ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency across functional operations.

A tertiary qualification in finance, business or a related field, with relevant professional certifications will be expected.  You will be enthusiastic to work with a dynamic team to drive a positive impact on society through high-impact social research.
