The newly created Chief Operating Officer (COO) position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and growth of an ambitious tertiary education institute, ensuring quality and compliance, and a core focus on an outstanding student experience.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and with around 14 direct reports, the COO is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organisation, including managing all administrative and operational functions and ensuring that the Institute operates efficiently and effectively. The COO will make a significant contribution to strategy and decision-making that will ensure the strategy and operations of professional services are effectively and efficiently aligned to support academic excellence, including providing leadership and oversight to relevant accreditation processes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record in providing strong strategic direction and operational leadership, with the ability to effectively lead change and engage stakeholders through collaboration, negotiation and influence. Current knowledge of the Australian tertiary education landscape will be required, with experience in quality assurance and compliance and an understanding of tertiary education accreditation requirements, including demonstrated experience in the successful management of regulatory audits by TEQSA, ASQA, CRICOS or similar. The appointee will also bring a track record in driving innovation and continuous improvement, engaging and inspiring the team on the journey.
