Professor Jane Bryson is Amo Ōrauariki – Dean, Wellington School of Business and Government

Fisher Leadership was delighted to continue our partnership with Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington recently on three important positions.  Ranked as New Zealand’s leading university for research quality, the University’s vision is to be a world-leading capital city university and one of the great global-civic universities.  Its iho, or essence, is as a global-civic university with its marae at heart.

The newly created role of Amo Ōrauariki – Dean, Wellington School of Business and Government provides strategic direction and academic oversight of the research, teaching, civic engagement and external engagement for the Wellington School of Business and Government (WSBG), which is among just 1% of business schools worldwide to hold the ‘Triple Crown’ of international accreditations (AACSB; EQUIS and AMBA).

With over 22 years at the University and a strong understanding of the context of the WSBG and the requirements of the position, Professor Jane Bryson was selected as the successful candidate to build on her achievements while acting in the role and serving as Deputy Dean previously.  Jane’s academic experience encompasses scholarship, teaching, academic leadership, and management, with visiting roles at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Strathclyde and Toronto.  She extends this experience from an earlier career as an organisational psychologist and human resources manager in the public sector and as a management consultant in NZ, Australia and the UK.
