Professor David Geelan is National Head of School, Education at the University of Notre Dame

Fisher Leadership was delighted to partner with the University of Notre Dame Australia in the search for an exceptional National Head of School, Education.  This important role provides leadership and drives the advancement of the School in line with the University’s mission, strategic direction, and identity as a Catholic higher education institution.

Most recently Deputy Head (Academic) in the School of Education at Professional Studies at Griffith University, Professor David Geelan has a track record of leading through change, as evidenced by his agility in leading his School’s move to online learning at the start of the pandemic.  With an academic specialisation in science education and additional research on educational technology, David is also experienced in leading accreditation processes and he has strong international connections.  In his earlier career, David was a secondary school physics and chemistry teacher in Victoria, NSW and WA, and has worked as a teacher educator in Papua New Guinea, Canada and Australia.  He has also offered teacher professional learning workshops in the Philippines and South Africa and has been involved in developing and teaching online courses for over 25 years.
