The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) plays a vital role in leading research quality, strategic impact and innovation partnerships that respond to global, regional and industry needs.

Bringing international expertise in leadership, higher education, research and clinical practice, Professor Janusz Jankowski was appointed to this key leadership position.  Most recently working as a clinical consultant, non-executive director and policy advisor advising health agencies, overseeing national research strategy and health portfolio networks in the UK, Janusz has an academic career of 35 years.

Janusz’s earlier academic roles include senior faculty positions at the University of Oxford, Dean (Medicine and Health Sciences) at UAEU as well as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of Central Lancashire, Associate Dean (Enterprise) at Peninsula Medical and Dental School and Head of Department at the University of Leicester.
