Professor Lisa Cary is Dean, Learning and Teaching Innovation at Charles Sturt University

Our team was delighted to partner with Charles Sturt University in the search for an experienced individual to drive the transformation of learning and teaching as Dean, Learning and Teaching Innovation.  This important position plays a critical role in driving a focus on excellence, academic quality and education innovation, in addition to assisting in the day-to-day management of the Division of Learning and Teaching.

With extensive experience in the higher education sector in Australia, Canada and the USA over the last 20 years, Professor Lisa Cary has a strong international reputation as a curriculum scholar and educational research theorist, and a significant track record in learning and teaching leadership.  With previous roles at Curtin University, Murdoch University and the University of Texas at Austin, Lisa joined CSU from La Trobe University, where she was Deputy Director: Educational Development Services.  In this role she designed and implemented continuous quality improvement processes and supported university-wide models and frameworks.  During Lisa’s tenure, La Trobe has been awarded five citations for outstanding contributions to student learning at the Australian Awards for University Teaching in both 2021 and 2022; an outstanding result for Lisa and the University.
