Christian W Probst is the new Director High Tech Transdisciplinary Research Network at Unitec Institute of Technology commencing in early 2018. Christian was appointed an Associate Professor in 2008, and comes from a position as the Head of Section for Cyber Security at the Department for Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Denmark. He leads a group of seven faculty members, four post-doctoral researchers and one PhD student. Christian also concurrently serves as the Director of Studies for two different portfolios within the Bachelor of Engineering. Christian was also an External Lecturer at the Copenhagen Business School in the Department of Informatics, and in 2005 a Lecturer at Donald Bren School for Information and Computer Science, University of California, Irvine, USA. Christian’s research interests are in the area of system security, from organisations to distributed computer systems, where he combines modelling and analysis of systems to develop systems with guaranteed properties, or to assess these properties. Examples of Christian’s research include system models for the detection of insider threats, organisational security, and verification of workflows. Research and funding highlights include Artemis projects “Cognitive & Perceptive Cameras” (CopCams) and “Portable and Predictable Performance on Heterogeneous Embedded Manycores” (PaPP), where he was co-Principal Investigator (co-PI) and jointly responsible for the local budget. From 2012-2016, Christian was technical lead and co-PI on an EU FP7 Integrated project “Technology-supported Risk Estimation by Predictive Assessment of Sociotechnical Security” (TREsPASS). This project included similar budget and staffing responsibility for Christian.
