Corinne Lyon has been appointed the position of General Manager/ Director of Clinical Services at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Fitzroy to ensure the highest levels of quality and safety in clinical performance.

Corinne demonstrates an extensive career in nursing leadership with a focus in the Operating Suite, complemented by her recent executive level clinical leadership experience. For the past three and a half years Corinne has been engaged with the Jessie McPherson Private Hospital (JMPH), a 103-bed private hospital.  Corinne held the position of Director Clinical Services. She has worked on the development and implementation of ‘Jessie brochure’ which incorporates preadmission/admission/discharge information along with key quality and safety patient information.  Corinne has undertaken a review and redevelopment of policies and procedures and Visiting Medical Officers credentialing processes.  When JMPH developed and implemented the EMR, Corinne was the executive clinical lead for the project. A key focus for Corinne has been driving improvements in quality and safety with significant achievements in the 2018/2019 FY including decrease in medication errors, decrease in complaints, improvement in overall patient experience, and increase in hand hygiene compliance. 

In her earlier career, Corinne worked with Casey Hospital, a 229-bed public hospital, as the Nurse Unit Manager – Operating Suite.  Significant achievements for Corinne included exceeding theatre utilisation KPIs, leading continuous safety improvements and mentoring senior staff for succession planning.

Corinne holds a Master of Business Administration (August 2019), a Graduate Diploma of Nursing Practice Perioperative (2011) and a Diploma of Applied Science, Nursing (1990).
